35 Years Strong
I'm so thankful for all the adventures we've had!
Thirty-five years ago today we said I do. I remember when I thought that anyone who had been married that long was really old. Does that mean we’re old now? 😂
Anyway, to celebrate this anniversary I thought I’d share a little of our story. 💝
James and I first met next to a school bus when I was 14 and he was 16. He had just started dating my friend and she introduced us. lol! We went to the same school but because we were in different grades we were in different buildings so I didn’t really see him again until the following school year. By then he and my friend had long ago broken up but they were still friends and a group of us started hanging out at lunch together. He was fun to talk to, he made me laugh a lot, and so a great friendship began. We were friends for about a year and then he asked me out at his birthday party. Of course there’s more to the story but, as they say, the rest is history!
I was 16 and he had just turned 18 when we started dating and when you’re that age you feel like you’re all grown up and know so much. haha! Looking back now, we were such babes! But we were meant to be together and a few years later when I was 19 and he was 20, we got married. So basically we grew up together. ;)
We’ve had our share of struggles just like any other couple but we’ve stuck together like glue - for better or worse - and we’ve made it this far. ;) We have two amazing kiddos who have made us incredibly proud and a lifetime of great adventures and memories to look back on. And since we’re living our Road Life Adventure, we’re still making memories and having so much fun!
I’m so thankful I’ve had such an amazing partner in life. I’m thankful to have James by my side for everything life throws at me. We have a lot of fun together and I can’t imagine doing this life without him.
